401 Challenge Update

Well done to our Year 5 class who have crept into the lead in our @the401challenge – They are 53% of the way through their journey and are currently passing through Guthrie, Oklahoma. 🇺🇸 As a school we’ve completed over 40K miles! Amazing! @401foundation #WJISPESSPA

New Topic- Colours of India

Next half term in topic we will be focusing on India. We are trying to collect together a variety of artefacts such as, models and puppets, books, pictures, fabrics, photographs, maps, CDs and other materials which demonstrate the culture, religion and traditions of the Indian Subcontinent. If you have any at home that you would be willing to bring into school for us to show to the children and display then please let us know. We will need them in school from the first week back.

Many thanks,

The Reception Team.

Pyjama day – Thursday 17th February

By now you should have received a letter regarding our pyjama day for our topic’s fabulous finish (see copy below). The children can come to school in (clean!) pyjamas or bedroom attire and bring a favourite bedtime story to share. The children must wear shoes outdoors but can bring slippers to change into in the classroom. They will have a range of ‘bedtime’ activities too.

One of the activities we would like to do requires the children to have a small bottle. Please could you send one in with your child and any spare, if you have them and we will collect some too.

Many Thanks

The Reception Team

401 USA Challenge Update

Year 3 have pushed themselves into 3rd place in the @the401challenge after a busy week of swimming! 🏊‍♀️They’re currently travelling through Erwinville, Louisiana. 🇺🇸Year 2 are out in front by approx 150 miles, with Year 5 chasing in 2nd place. #401VirtualSchoolMission #WJISPESSPA

Local walk

Today we went for a walk of the local area. We took our class worry monster as he hasn’t been outside the classroom before! We showed him all the local features. It was a long walk so I think all the children will sleep well, just like in bedtime for monster. The children were brilliant, well behaved and super sensible for their first visit out of school. Tomorrow we are going to create maps to show where we went and what we saw. Take a look below. Can you guess where we went?
